Simple Paradise {PP52}

Happy Paper Players Sunday, everyone!  I hope you're having a fabulous weekend and Happy Father's Day to all the men out there!  Hmmm, I wonder if I have any male readers??  Paper Player Jaydee is our Clean-and-Simple hostess this week and she has challenged us with a simple and classic sketch:
Lovely, isn't it?  Lots of options with this one.  I like to mix it up a bit so I turned the sketch on it's side which put the focal piece on the right side like this:
And what a perfect sketch to show off one of Stampin' Up's newest In Color...Pool Party!  A beautiful soft and cool ocean blue that is just gorgeous and will be available with the new catalog on July 1st .  I've stamped the background with the retiring Sanded background stamp inked in Pool Party.  Another retiring stamp set, Paradise, was inked in Pool Party, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Lucky Limeade (another new In Color) and stamped onto Whisper White.
Here you can get a good close look at Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.  I trimmed out the main piece with a scalloped border of More Mustard that I distressed a little with the bone folder.  Then wrapped the whole thing with Early Espresso Baker's Twine.  This Baker's Twine is a chameleon; it magically matches whatever shade of brown it is paired with.  Doesn't it look like Soft Suede Baker's Twine here?
A clean and simple card deserves a clean-and-simple inside too!  Because I want to use my Sanded background stamp as much as possible before it retires :-), I stamped it again on the inside behind my Whisper White panel onto which I repeated more tropical leaves from the Paradise set.

So, I hope you've liked my Simple Paradise card;  I would love to hear what you think!  Be sure to check out the inspiring work of our amazing Design Team and then head off to your craft room from some clean-and-simple fun!  Be sure to load up your lovely creations by Friday, June 24th at midnight (PST) to have a chance for the Design Team's winning selections.  Hope to see you at The Paper Players!

Another great card, I too didn't realize you stamped the paper with Paradise stamps (even though I read it) great job of making it look like DSP! Love the focal point being offset to the right (can you believe it)? The distressed scallop and the Baker's twine just set if off.
Don't blame you for using the background stamp it just adds the little finishing touch !

Oops, forgot to say how much I love the inside stamping especially the sanded background, great idea. The new color is gorgeous too.

Oh! I hate More Mustard (and of course I accidentally ordered 2 packs of it!), but I am loving it on your card! I need to make a note of that color combo because it looks great. I love flipping sketches and like how you changed it up a bit. And the inside? Fabulous way to finish off a beautiful card.

Ooh, Pool Party! You know I love soft blues, and this one looks gorgeous!

The stamped panel looks wonderful--what a great choice of colors. And I adore the way you finished the inside. Paradise, indeed! Hugs to you, friend!

Nance this card is like cool ocean breeze... the stamp set is perfect I just LOVE that one, (but don't use it enough). So fitting for your Florida location too. The BG stamp is just enough to add to the cs, and the twine is perfection! Thanks for the cameleon tip too! The inside is so pretty too. Just enough ..Hugs.

This looks like a pool party - tropical and fun! And I always love how you used Sanded for texture and background! Don't put it on the shelf permanently :)

What a fantastic card! I too thought the main panel was DSP before I read it. Your card makes me dream of a tropical get away :)

Yup, it's official! Pool Party is now one of my new favorites because of this fantabulous card, Nance! WOW! Love how you mixed the colors and I have never given that stamp set a second look until I saw this. Just gorgeous, especially with the Sanded BG. I'm officially ready for a vacation after seeing this one! Awesome job, as always! :)
