Vintage Mailbox Valentines
Hi there, friends! Just had to pop in and share this adorable Valentine mailbox I made for our daughter. Of course, no daughter of mine can gather her Valentines from classmates in just anything, right?!
Of course not!
I am learning how to play with use my Silhouette Cameo and found an old style mailbox at the Silhouette store. This baby is BIG! It stands at 8" high and 4.5" square. Plenty of room for valentines. The base is Crumb Cake because that was the only 12 x 12 cardstock I had and I covered it in coordinating patterns from some retired valentine DSP. Still love these patterns and colors together. I think this is among some of my favorite valentine paper. Or, maybe I say that every year. LOL.
For all those bulky valentines, the lid pops off just like a regular box. I made sure to attach the embellishments only to the lid so as not to interfere with the function of the box.
And speaking of embellishments, I really had fun with those! I used a variety of retired papers, stamps and accessories. Of course, it took me waaay longer to put everything together as I'm still learning the ropes of the Cameo. And, I take forever sometimes to make decisions about each element. Despite all that, the squeal of delight from my daughter when I showed it to her....well, that made it all worthwhile. Thanks for stopping by today!

This is so cute, Nance! What a great gift for your lucky girl and I agree, she'll treasure it for years. I love that DSP, also. I keep thinking about getting a Cameo. Maybe next Christmas!
Nance this is adorable and I'm sure no one else in her class will have such a lovely Valentine holder. Boy that sure brings back memories! hugs.
