Sweet Sorbet & a Sketch {PP184}

Hiya friends!  It's another week with The Paper Players where Jaydee has an awesome sketch for us:
This is such a great sketch--can be dressed up or down, clean or layered...whatever suits your fancy.  For me, I landed somewhere in the middle with my take on it:
I thought the wide expanse of background was perfect to feature some of our gorgeous designer paper.  Here, I've used one of my favorite patterns from Sweet Sorbet DSP--a Sale-a-Bration freebie.  The colors are so pretty together--Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit--and they really pop on the black background.
I used the Needlepoint embossing folders that hadn't seen the light of day in awhile--I like the texture they add to the Pistachio Pudding and Summer Starfruit banners.  I did some tone-on-tone stamping with an image from Petal Parade on the Crisp Cantaloupe banner and finished it all off with a Tea Lace doily and Silver Baker's Twine.
All the images in Petal Parade are so much fun to stamp with--they really lend themselves to layering or collage stamping.  Sassy Salutations adds just the right amount of whimsy to the inside.  I know that the rest of the Design Team really rocked this sketch, so head on over to the Paper Players and have a look-see.  Then come back and join us before the challenge ends on Friday, February 28th at Noon (PST).  If you're interested, all the supplies I used for this card are in the table below--with links!  Thanks for stopping by today, friends...

This is just lovely, Nance....that paper is stunning, and your doily and all the little embossed banners do it real justice! I see you have the Crafty Owl table now too!!!

Cute card Nance - and great Crafty Owl product table too! I realised I have (non-SU) friends in Gainsville that literally live 5 minutes away from you - small world huh?! Next time I'm over I might have to pop by and say hi! I'm always trying to persuade my USA friend to sign up to SU! - if I manage to persuade her I'll send her to you!

Nance wow I really like (and never would have thought) how you used the doiley with this DSP. AND with the chevron accents it makes me feel like it's MOVING.... just zooming by.
hugs.

Nance, I love your beautiful embossed layers and the twice stamped strip, but I really love how you pay so attention to your card insides. They could be cards themselves! Hugs :)

Nance, I love that you used textured layers instead of DSP - genius. I also love how the sentiment is contained on the middle layer. Fabulous take on the sketch

SO pretty, Nance! I just love how you carry the theme into the inside of the card so beautifully. I need to get back to doing that. You always add the best details to your cards! :)
