More Curtain Call {Act 34} Mojo {143}

Hi everyone! Who knew...that rich razzleberry, basic grey and dusty durango could look so good together?! Well, apparently Stacey at the Curtain Call Color Challenge did because that is her challenge this week!







Once again, I really loved this week's Mojo Monday sketch which gave me the jump start I needed on this design. The sahara sand cardstock base is stamped with the Woodgrain Background stamp also in sahara sand ink. I think the Woodgrain coordinates well with the natural look of this little flower from the level 1 hostess set Of the Earth. The flowers were stamped in versamark ink and heat embossed with white stampin' emboss powder. I love the way the white looks so crisp and clean against the saturated challenge colors. So summer-y! I brought in the whisper white for the challenge on the background strip that was textured with the square lattice impressions folder. Some ruffled basic grey taffeta ribbon added even more texture and interest. The taffeta ribbon is my absolute favorite! So easy to tie in knots--even bows--and it's perfect for the ruffle technique I used here.

I inked up the cute little text stamp from the Charming set in sahara sand ink and stamped it onto whisper white. A journey into my stamp storage (with a flashlight!) for a sentiment I had not used in awhile turned up this retired set called Best Yet (I think it might have been a hostess set?) which got inked up in rich razzleberry. The 1.75" circle punch made just the right sized circle and the Circles #2 die made a perfectly-sized mat in coordinating rich razzleberry.
I finished off the inside with the Charming stamp inked in rich razzleberry and stamped off once. A dusty durango flower pulls in the color from the card front and finishes it off nicely! Thanks so much for all the sweet comments you leave for me--I hope your day is a crafty one!

PPA11

I couldn't resist making another version of my curried moon card to answer the challenge posed by the design team at PPA. This week it's a color challenge: old olive, pumpkin pie and perfect plum. Great fall or halloween colors and I thought these colors worked pretty well with my card from yesterday's post. (Please take a look for directions on how I made this card.) The challenge did allow us to add neutral colors so I also have basic black, basic grey and just a tad of whisper white. It was a challenge to fit the perfect plum in there but I relied on the Cast-a-Spell designer paper to pull all the challenge colors together for me! Since I used just a bit of it on the actual card, I carried more designer paper into the lining of the envelope. Cute!

I also can't resist showing you my new personalized stamp! Another thing I've held off purchasing... don't know why... I'm glad I did because I love it! What a great way to advertise our craft and the best part is, the butterfly stamp meets SU!'s Angel Policy which allows individuals to sell any cards you make as long as they bear this stamp--done! This is actually the Hand Stamped by stamp (#115602) AND a one-line Text-Only Stamp (#115576). They are ordered separately but the wood block was big enough for both so I mounted them together--otherwise, I would never get the blog address lined up exactly where I wanted it, LOL!

I made this card using Lauren Meader's onesie tutorial for a baby shower we went to today. So cute! This card is super easy and stinkin' cute don't you think? Lauren says it should only take about 10 minutes to make and really it does! I cut a 4 1/4 x 11" card from whisper white with the fold at the top. Then I cut a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 piece of my patterned paper--here I used DCWV "nana's nursery". The head and leg holes are cut with a 1 3/8 circle punch and the scalloped circle punch. The sentiment is stamped from the "short and sweet" set in certainly celery and attached to a scalloped oval punched from lavendar lace cardstock. The sizzlits buttons #5 die passed through my cuttlebug on some more lavendar lace cardstock to make the buttons for the bottom of the onsie! I finished off the inside with the deer image from the "forest friends" stamp--a good match to the non-SU patterned paper, eh? Oh, and don't forget the back! The leg and head holes looked too plain so I finished them off with more scalloped edges. Hope you like it!
