Golden Wedded Bliss {PP198}

Hi all--I'm back from vacation!  We had a wonderful time touring Italy for two weeks.  Oh my, what a gorgeous country.  I'll have some photos to share soon but for now it was all I could do to squeeze a DT card out of my stamping-deprived brain.  This week sassy Sandy is our hostess for a Theme Challenge over at The Paper Players:
Wedded Bliss could apply to anniversary cards as well (at least we hope it's blissful!) and since I am in more need of those than wedding cards, I went with it!
Even though this stamp set (This Day Forward) is retiring, I will hold on to it because this image is so pretty--especially embossed in gold.  You might remember this card I made with it for a very special couple.   Once I embossed the image in gold, there was no stopping all the golden elements on this card.  Gold embossed vellum, brushed gold cardstock, gold embossed sentiment and gold baker's twine!  I discovered that the stripes on the embossed vellum are exactly the same width as SNAIL glue so I ran some SNAIL behind each gold striped to adhere it to the card base.  I thought that was very clever--haha!

Do stop by and visit the rest of the Design Team to see what they are sharing today.  I hope you'll join in the fun with Sandy's challenge at The Paper Players before it ends on Friday, June 6th at Noon (PST)

Edit 6/1/14: I did mention that my brain is still on vacation, right?  I forgot to credit the fabulous sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for the inspiration of my layout!  Geesh!

This is a 24k gold card, love all the details and the striped vellum, so pretty and clever with the tape to adhere it to the cs!

This is glorious in all it's goldness, Nance! I love that that snail can be hidden behind the gold stripes too...very convenient! The embossing really makes this card stand out!

Nance, I love this color scheme. The gold is so perfect for a wedding card. You are right, this is a precious image for a wedding card and I can see why you will hold on to it. I also love the script embossed layer. Gorgeous.
