Another Flower Shop Hive

Hiya peeps! Just a card to share with you on a quick mid-week visit.  I needed one for a co-worker's birthday.  She loves flowers and the color yellow so I made another version of this card--isn't it fun when you can CASE yourself?  It makes the creative process so much easier!  Wanna see?
Oh this card makes me happy...and I hope it makes my co-worker happy too!  I thought this pattern from the Wondercolor Wonder DSP was a good match to Crisp Cantaloupe so I stamped the Flower Shop flowers in Tangerine Tango onto Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.
I stamped the Hardwood background stamp in Crushed Curry onto Daffodil Delight cardstock after running it through the Big Shot with the Hexagon Hive die.  Oh, how I love this die!  To the flowers I added a Crushed  Curry center punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and a pearl.
Because I used the Naturals Chevron ribbon, I used Crumb Cake as my accent color for the banner, leaves and card base.  It's a good neutral to tone down the bright shades of the other colors.
Because there are many people at work who need to sign this card, I added two panels to the inside and took care to line up the strips of DSP across the bottom.  I used another Flower Shop image on the inside in Crisp Cantaloupe as well as a few from Fabulous Florets in Daffodil Delight.  I hope you've enjoyed looking at this one as much as I enjoyed making it!  All the supplies used are listed below...thanks for stopping by!

A Flower Shop Flip {PP162}

Hiya, friends!   I'm back with another week at The Paper Players where the talented LeAnne has a lovely color combination for us to work with:
Rich Razzleberry is one of those colors that when I use it, I wonder why I don't use it more often!  So pretty and...well...RICH!  I just received an order with the Circle Card Thinlit Die and wanted to give it a try.
I used the die to cut my card base from Basic Black cardstock and layered some Modern Medley DSP and retired Pool Party paper on the two panels of the base.  To get the sizing right, I measured each panel, cut the paper to size and then from the back side traced the circle and hand cut the window.
Before I SNAIL'ed down the DSP, I wrapped some Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon around each panel, lining them up so they appeared as one.  Of course, this isn't just Very Vanilla seam binding!  I really wanted to use Rich Razzleberry ribbon but the only one I had was too narrow.  So, I stamped the border pattern from Summer Silhouettes directly on the ribbon in Rich Razzleberry ink.  The ink bled a little and I rather like the effect--a bit like the Ikat pattern that is so trendy right now.
I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry with the Flower Shop set and coordinating Pansy punch.  Lots of other products used there too: Secret Garden Framelits for the Pool Party leaves, Boho Blossom punch for the center of the flowers, Candy Dots, and finally a sentiment from the Banner Greetings hostess set!  I made sure to place the flowers well inside the circle so they do not interfere with the flipping action of the center circle--I promise you they don't!
I found that the 2.5" circle punch makes the perfect size circle to fit on the back of the focal point.  It was the perfect size to feature this fun sentiment from the Remembering Your Birthday set.

I hope you'll remember to check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and then consider palying along with us before the challenge ends on Friday, September 13th (gasp!) at Noon (PDT).

For those who are interested...here's a few more pix from our recent trip.  We ended our dusty safari trip with 3 days on the island of Zanzibar where we relaxed, snorkeled and washed the dust off in the Indian Ocean.  Here's an entirely different view of Africa:

Thanks for stopping by today, friends!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A Wetlands Goose

I really love this Wetlands stamp!  It's very versatile working equally as well with light, beach colors or dark, masculine colors:
I needed a birthday card for my BIL who lives in the wilds of Wisconsin and this goose is just perfect!  I paired it with some Core'dinations cardstock embossed and sanded to resemble barn wood.  Again, perfect for my BIL who actually salvaged wood from an old barn--I mean the entire barn--and used it to build an addition onto their house! How cool is that?!
Sometimes when an image is colored with markers, the color is less saturated and not as pretty.  Not so with this stamp!  The weathered, watercolor look of it makes for a great multicolored image.  Here I colored with Early Espresso, Gumball Green and Crushed Curry.  I masked the goose so that I could stamp the grasses around him.
Love the Crumb Cake Epic Day Washi Tape for a little texture and subtle color and the Banner Greetings hostess set was a must on my very first order!
This is just one of those stamp sets that Stampin' Up does so well--fine details that stamp beautifully!  I hope you've enjoyed my Wetlands Goose birthday card.  The full list of supplies I used to make this card is listed below.  Thanks for stopping by today, friends!
