Painted Petals for the Paper Players {PP238}

Hi friends!  So, I had a bit of an unexpected blogging break--sometimes life just takes over, right?  I'm back today with my gal pals over at The Paper Players where Claire has a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us:
So many different directions to go!  Choosing three across the bottom: flowers, pink and polka dots here's what I came up with:
These colors are so soft and pretty together aren't they?  Believe it or not this is my first time inking up the Painted Petals stamp set and can see lots of potential with it!  The leaves and stems were stamped in Wild Wasabi while the flowers were stamped in Blushing Bride.  My accent stripes were stamped in So Saffron as were the row of polka dots on the base.
This card is really very simple but shows off the stamps in this set to a good advantage.  I love the triple line stamp--what a great accent image!  All it needed were a few pearl centers to dress it up a bit.
I used a few more of those grid lines on the inside--really like how easy it is to create a gingham look with the triple line image.  Now, I have to admit that I feel as though I cheated just a bit....as I originally designed this card--with different colors--for my stamp club gals.  I CASE'd myself!  I thought you might like to see the original:
It's amazing how much the look and feel of the card is changed by the colors isn't it?  Here, I used Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss.  Aren't they pretty together?!
Maybe it's because of the darker colors but this one has a more dramatic feel, doesn't it?  Experimenting with color is so much fun!  And, I know you will have a lot of fun checking out the eye candy from the rest of The Paper Players design team.  Be sure to pop over and take a peek!  Then come back and play with us before the challenge ends on Friday, April 3rd at Noon (PST).  Thanks for stopping by today!

Both cards are beautiful! I love doing the same card in different colors and I don't consider it cheating at all.

Amazing is right! I love this, Nance! Yes, those lined stamped together certainly give the effect of gingham. Both sets of colors are equally beautiful, and as always the insides of your cards are as lovely as the outside! Fabulous!

I love that you CASEd yourself! Why reinvent the wheel, right? I love your yellow, green and pink version, and how cool to use the grid on the inside against the sentiment...very neat idea!

Nance this is so cool looking. Love the stamping over the lines... kind of reminds me of a trellis... so pretty. Hugs.

Very pretty cards, I like them so much I had to order this stamp set. Love how different they look using a variety of colors, really like the smokey gray with blackberry bliss.

Welcome back Nance! I love both colour combos on your cards - I have been avoiding the lines in this stamp set, but I'm now thinking I should be using them more often!

Nance, I can't make up whether I prefer the inside or the outside of these cards! They are gorgeous and I love the depth of the purple... and yet I love the spring colored one, too. Stunning.
