Pearls by the Sea {PP123}

Hello friends and Paper Players fans! For my friends in the US, I hope you are enjoying the Thanksgiving weekend.  I've had 6 days off from work and it's been wonderful!  My Mom has been visiting us this week and it's been great to have her here for my stamp club, Thankgiving dinner, shopping and more stampin!  But enough about me, you're here for a card!  This week the lovely and talented Jaydee is hostess for a sketch challenge and she's designed a fabulous one:
So versatile!  So many things to do with that center panel--stamp it, use pretty patterned paper, whatever you would like!  I chose to use it for a friend's birthday card using a new-to-me stamp set, By the Seashore:
My friend loves the beach as well as blues and greens so I used that as the inspiration for my color palette of Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and River Rock.  Each seashell was stamped in one of those 4 colors in a random pattern.  And by random, I mean it took me 5 attempts to achieve "random", lol!  The background was stamped with a long-retired stamp (Aida) for a natural wicker/tropical feel.
I took a liberal approach to the sentiment panel in Jaydee's sketch but I think the flagged ends of the Itty Bitty Banner and my ribbon ends mimic the sentiment banner in the sketch.  The sentiment I used was a bit small so I backed it with a Decorative Label that had been stamped with the Four Frames set on Pool Party cardstock.  I added just a few okay A LOT of pearls to frame it out--it needed a little somethin' ya know? I think you would agree a special friend deserves A LOT of pearls, right?
And speaking of pearls, I just had to show you what our sweet dog, Sadie, was sportin' after Stamp Club last week.  Those darn pearls end up everywhere...and I guess Sadie thought this one looked like a tasty morsel!  Or maybe she was just taking after a certain pair of Boxer Twins...
Lastly, I peek at the inside with a spray of seashells across an all-time favorite birthday sentiment from the retired set, On Your Birthday.  I'll never tired of this stamp!

I hope I've inspired you to play along with us at The Paper Players this week.  The hardest part about getting started, I think, is the layout of the card and Jaydee's sketch is a fantastic place to begin your design.  Be sure to visit the rest of the design team and check out their interpretations of Jaydee's sketch.   Our challenge ends on Friday, November 30th at Noon and don't forget, our Guest Designer call too!  Have a great day, friends!

Beautiful card, Nance! I'm glad you enjoyed some quality mom time this week. I'm looking forward to a bit of that myself next month. :) LOVE the doggy pearl. I think they stick better to pets than cards sometimes.

This is beautiful, Nance! I love the colors and the "random" stamping. The inside of the card is just as stunning as the outside. And love the pearl that Sadie is sporting - my first thought was that she was channeling the Boxer Twins as well! LOL

Such a pretty card, of course I love the sea shell images and the tag, the pearls, the ribbon ends and the inside of the card is gorgeous too.
However, the cutie-pie is really sweet Ms. Sadie all dressed up in her pearls, too funny!
Luv,
Mom

Such a beautiful card, N with an E! I love the colors, which seem so perfect for a seaside card. Of course you can never have too many pearls! And Sadie looks fabulous with her pearl. Like Muffy says, "Pearls and fur are made for each other!"

Love the card...I love seashells too but somehow I haven't gotten this set! Beautiful colors...but the pearl-embellished pooch stole the shore!

Such a beautiful Florida card - makes me long for the sea! And I will be "sea-ing" you in FL before long! I am sure you had a great time with your mom visiting :)

Nance love this color combo and it's so "Florida", right?
I really love the ribbon treatment on this and someone must be pretty special to get so many pearls! Wow. Now the one on Sadie's nose is too funny! hugs.

Another great card, Nance! But I have to say the picture of your adorable dog with a Pearl on her nose was the best. Totally made me smile.
