Yummy! When I saw these colors, I knew right away that I wanted to make a Christmas card with the Evergreen set. Taking an advance peek at my team mates' projects, I see I wasn't the only one! I paired the colors with Cindy's great design at Freshly Made Sketches:
And, here's what I made for you:
Had to laugh at myself...last week I had blue leaves and this week it's the whole tree! Love this two-step Evergreen stamp and the way the solid tree looks in Baja Breeze. The outline stamp was inked in Versamark and heat embossed in silver...pretty!
I did even more embossing on the background to really make the texture pop. First I inked one side of the Lacy Brocade embossing folder with a Versamark pad--just smeared it directly on the folder. Then, I ran it through the Big Shot with a piece of textured Basic Gray cardstock. Next, I sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and set it with the heat gun. Voila! Glossy embossed cardstock! Trimmed it out with a little silver glimmer paper and we've got sparkle AND shine!
I struggled with whether to add a sentiment on the front and opted to go without. However, the inside is the perfect size for a yuletide sentiment from Greetings of the Season. And, of course, one more [blue] tree!
I hope that my blue holiday tree has inspired you to look at your stamps in a new way and come out to play! We would love to see you in the gallery at The Paper Players. Just make sure to load your crafty goodness before the challenge closes on Friday, September 14th at Noon (PST).

Nance!!!!! I LOVE what you did! Stamping and embossing in silver OVER the tree....BRILLIANT!!! So pretty!!! I'm actually really loving the tree in baja too ;) Has such a peacefulness to it, doesn't it?! Lovely card! Must jot your idea down to case it soon! Thanks for the inspiration!
Absolutely stunning card, love your embossing idea for the background paper, but the silver on top of the tree...genius & the little touch of silver scallop, sigh! Also years ago I remember many blue Christmas trees (although they were artificial! Will definitely try the embossed background idea.
Nance this is just gorgeousness. I DO love to use unconventional colors for things and this blue tree looks fabulous for this idea. The clear embossed background is spectacular and like your mom, I'll have to try that out too.
hugs
Wow, Nance! That glossy background looks amazing. I am going to have to try that. I never can get the Versamark off my folders but it would be worth it for this look. Gorgeous card. I think blue trees and leaves are awesome by the way. :)
Very, VERY pretty....I have seen several cards using that gorgeous EF and I can see another demo order on the horizon!! Love that tree, too!
Loving the embossed silver on the tree and how you used the sketch. Great Christmas card.
Perhaps it is a blue spruce??!! :-) I love this tree in blue and all the silver is amazing! Love every single thing about it! So glad you joined us this week!
This is GO-jus!WOW!!! I initially thought that you had used silver on black cardstock to highlight the embossing folder, but come to find out it's gray cardstock and clear EP on the low areas - it's awesome! I can't believe how well that makes it pop!
Wow! This is just gorgeous! I love the colors and that touch of silver embossing is amazing. Thanks for playing along with this week's sketch!
Nance, the tree is so pretty in the silver embossing. Great use of texture on your card - all the way from the base, right to that tree! Fabulous card

What a fantastic color combo for Christmas - blue tree and all! The embossed silver over the stamped tree really makes this special. And I'm loving the clear embossing on the background. So chic!
I love the embossing. So gorgeous! I will definitely do that when that stamp set comes tomorrow! TFS :)
I'm not even going to tell you how close I was to heat embossing that same folder on my card. Lol...I think you and I have "ESPN" sometimes, I tell ya! I love, love, LOVE the effect, especially with the silver embossing on the tree. We aren't even going to talk about how much I love that glimmer paper border either. Swoon! So shiny-licious! (It's not a word, I know) Absolutely awesome Christmas card! :)
Wow this looks fabulous Nance! Love that glossy embossed background you've created - must try that!! The silver outline over the solid image looks really elegant and the ribbon you've used finishes it all off beautifully!
Love this!! The embossing is absolutely gorgeous and the blue is fantastic (and I'm not just saying that because it's my favorite color!)on your tree!
