Two Step Leaves...Bravo! {PP67}

Happy Paper Players Sunday, peeps!  Jaydee is our hostess-with-the-mostess this week and she has a fabulous autumn color challenge for us:
I am certain that I never would have put these colors together as I think my Bravo Burgandy ink pad has seen rubber only once before today's card!  But what a lovely combination this is...and perfect for fall holidays.  I finally broke down and ordered the Gently Falling stamp set...I had resisted and resisted and then....sigh...any attempts at further resistance were futile.  I caved to the inevitable and....
{happy sigh} it is everything I expected it to be!!  The two-step stamping adds such richness to the image and these leaves are fabulous!  Speaking of fabulous, I took my sketch cue from those fab girls at Freshly Made Sketches for this go-to sketch:
Let's take a closer look at those yummy leaves, shall we?

I stamped the oak leaf in all the challenge colors and added the second outline layer in Versamark ink just to the More Mustard leaves and heat embossed with gold stampin' emboss powder.  Isn't it pretty?!
The background panel is Bravo Burgandy cardstock that was run through the Big Shot with the "Distressed" texture plate [retired].  Before I ran it through, I rubbed my Bravo Burgandy ink pad all over the texture plate so the ink was pushed into the de-bossed areas for a faux letterpress look. I love how this technique accentuates the texture of the plate.  It almost looks like woodgrain doesn't it?! ;-)

I hope I've inspired you to play along with Jaydee's fabulously fall color challenge this week--you're gonna love these colors!  Be sure to check out the delicious eye-candy from the rest of the design team:

I have been trying to resist this set myself and you are making it very hard to keep doing so!

Love how you used the sketch and the colour combo. Great card.

Umm...I don't have that texture plate and now I'm sad. :( How did I miss something that makes woodgrain?! Lovely, lovely card, Nance. You are making it difficult to resist Gently Falling...

These leaves are fabulous in every way! And I love the big striped ribbon - I am using it more and more because of you! I used it on so many things for the library brunch including the centerpieces. I don't have anything woodgrain yet but if you see it appear on my cards you know I have moved into the Canopy :)

Hi Nance! This is fall-tastic fun, right here! Wow! Love the gold embossing and that bold ribbon is the perfect touch. I also love how you stampd the sentiment over the image. I channelled my inner-Nance this week and finally tried it myself. Thank you for the inspiration on that technique, along with all of the other tips and tricks you share. You are awesome, friend! Hope this weekend was great for you! (hugs!)

Such a wonderful fall card! The distressing is perfect for the tree theme (imagine that from you-winks) I also love that you only embossed a few of the leaves for a beautiful effect! I keep trying to talk myself out of this set too, but I really like it!

Nance, this is soooo pretty. You've used my favorite stamp sets, and I love the way you used the Gold Embossing, too. TFS.

Oh Nance, such a fabulous card on so many levels! Love the embossed leaves in gold and it is obvious how awesome the leaves actually stamp on paper...they look real! A great job with both challenges! You are a dear! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Gold embossing...inked embossing... you are just full of surprises Miss Nance! Every one of these fabulous elements works so perfectly together. Such a pretty card!

GORGEOUS card Nance! I was also once part of the resistance but how can you go without this stamp set?

I love how you embossed just a few leaves -what great shine and texture. Speaking of texture, the inked embossing plate is one of my favorites. It's always a leap of faith to put that ink on though:) I love how you used it with the bravo burgandy. The vintage brad and your ribbon are the perfect finishing touches for this amazing card. I can't get over how you do it time and time again.
