Luxury TY

Happy Friday everyone!  I just have to share a recent Thank You card I made for my mom's significant other.  At Christmas, he gifted my daughter and me with fabulous purses from one of our favorite stores.  The gift was such a surprise and so generous that it deserved a special thank you.  If you're like me special = bling, lol, but since it is for a man it had to be subdued and more subtle.  Here is what I came up with:
So here is another secret of mine...I love shopping bags of all kinds and I save the best ones.  Trouble is, I don't always know what or when I will use them so they tend to hang around for awhile....lol.  But then a cool idea strikes and I have the perfect thing!  That was the case here as I cut up a shopping bag I had hoarded kept from the aforementioned store.  It makes the perfect DSP, don't you think?  The colors are so rich!  It's hard to tell in the photo but I matted it with brushed gold cardstock to enhance the gold embossing on the paper and add a touch of bling without being overdone.
And look at that!  Elegant Eggplant is the perfect match to one of the stripes in this "paper".  I gave my ribbon the scrunchy treatment and offset a sentiment from a Papertrey Ink set stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and popped out with the Decorative Label punch.  Elegant, yes?
The inside treatment left plenty of room for my handwritten note with a skinny strip of the paper bag paper on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Of course, I wrote my note with my Early Espresso marker to match the card base!  I hope he likes it!  Anyway, thanks for indulging my recycled card.  I just know there are a few of you out there who recognize the bag and will appreciate the re-purposing!  Enjoy your day, my friends!

Don't forget...the Virtual Canopy Club is still open!  :-)

supplies:
stamps: Signature Greetings (PTI)
ink: Early Espresso
paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla cardstock and homemade DSP
xtras: Elegant Eggplant 1/4" grosgrain ribbon; Decorative Label punch

You had me LOL, Nance, as I can so relate! Believe it or not, I think I may even have one or two left from our wedding 15 years ago - can you tell we haven't been to too many weddings. Love the idea of using them on a card. I'm sure he will love the thank you note.

Nance this is perfect! How clever! I especially like how you left the inside just for writing a personal note. (I just did that for our friend with the big "C"). He will REALLY appreciate the extra effort you took to match the Thank You to the gift. Nicely done!

Awesome card, Nance. And great job of recycling the bag for a perfect masculine card! Works perfectly and I'll have to keep that in mind. My daughter is the bag hoarder in our house.

Hi Nance, I keep trying to email you to send you the Card Patterns guest designer sketch information. But your cox.net email keeps getting bounced back to me saying "delivery failure". Can you please contact me so I can get that to you??
