Every year my husband, an avid cyclist, sponsors a Veterans Day Poker Run. On this poker run, participants ride a 70+ mile route through our county stopping at each of the Veterans Memorial sites in various towns. At each stop, riders draw a card to make a poker hand and at the end of the ride, the best hands win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Riders pay to join the race and my husband donates all the money to a local charity serving veternas. Pretty neat, huh? Yeah, I'm proud of him for doing it! My job each year is to make the winners cards to hold the prizes. I was particularly happy with this year's easy but effective design:
I downloaded a bicycle image from the Silhouette store and cut it out of black cardstock. The Work of Art stamp set in Real Red and Night of Navy made the perfect flag background. Not a new technique but I love the look behind the bike.
The Blue Ribbon stamp is perfect for the inside of the card. I typed the text on the computer and printed it on Whisper White cardstock stamping the blue ribbon image in Smoky Slate. I didn't take a picture of it (silly me!) but I used the same stamp sets on the front of each envelope too.
