So many different directions to go! Choosing three across the bottom: flowers, pink and polka dots here's what I came up with:
These colors are so soft and pretty together aren't they? Believe it or not this is my first time inking up the Painted Petals stamp set and can see lots of potential with it! The leaves and stems were stamped in Wild Wasabi while the flowers were stamped in Blushing Bride. My accent stripes were stamped in So Saffron as were the row of polka dots on the base.
This card is really very simple but shows off the stamps in this set to a good advantage. I love the triple line stamp--what a great accent image! All it needed were a few pearl centers to dress it up a bit.
I used a few more of those grid lines on the inside--really like how easy it is to create a gingham look with the triple line image. Now, I have to admit that I feel as though I cheated just a bit....as I originally designed this card--with different colors--for my stamp club gals. I CASE'd myself! I thought you might like to see the original:
It's amazing how much the look and feel of the card is changed by the colors isn't it? Here, I used Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss. Aren't they pretty together?!
Maybe it's because of the darker colors but this one has a more dramatic feel, doesn't it? Experimenting with color is so much fun! ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful! I love doing the same card in different colors and I don't consider it cheating at all.

ReplyDeleteGenius layering that I would not get right for the world! Love your cards and hope you will show us more cards with it. So glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteAmazing is right! I love this, Nance! Yes, those lined stamped together certainly give the effect of gingham. Both sets of colors are equally beautiful, and as always the insides of your cards are as lovely as the outside! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThese flowers are so pretty and delicate-looking. Wonderful cards!
ReplyDeleteNance, these are just gorgeous! Isn't it fun to use a set that you forget that you have! The layering is just fabulous and you know I love the inside being finished! Just lovely!! XX
ReplyDeleteI love that you CASEd yourself! Why reinvent the wheel, right? I love your yellow, green and pink version, and how cool to use the grid on the inside against the sentiment...very neat idea!
ReplyDeleteNance this is so cool looking. Love the stamping over the lines... kind of reminds me of a trellis... so pretty. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty cards, I like them so much I had to order this stamp set. Love how different they look using a variety of colors, really like the smokey gray with blackberry bliss.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Nance! I love both colour combos on your cards - I have been avoiding the lines in this stamp set, but I'm now thinking I should be using them more often!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have showcased this stamp set beautifully! I haven't used the lines or the dots yet, I was stumped on how to do so...now I know!! lol Great original design and nice CASE for the challenge!! The colors are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteNance, I can't make up whether I prefer the inside or the outside of these cards! They are gorgeous and I love the depth of the purple... and yet I love the spring colored one, too. Stunning.
