Indescribable Gift for the Paper Players {PP236}

Hi friends and happy Sunday!  This week at The Paper Players the amazing Ann Schach has a really pretty challenge for us:
As I contemplated what I would do for today's card, I think I was subconsciously inspired by the challenge badge.  I liked the idea of line art on a colored background and when I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch, I knew exactly what I would do!  Here's the sketch:
and here's my card:
As you can imagine, it was difficult to capture the subtle elegance of this card but it's really pretty IRL!  I heat embossed the floral spray from Indescribable Gift on Smoky Slate cardstock with Crushed Curry embossing powder and paper pierced the exposed edges.
Perhaps this close-up will show the embossing in a better light.  I think this design could easily be replicated with other colored embossing powders and cardstocks.  Maybe I'll have to try a few more and post them here.  What colors would you like to see?
I know you would like a peek at the inside--love the look of the floral spray trailing down from the corner!  I wondered if the overall look was too subtle--even for a CAS card--and tried a few pearls (for Ann) and rhinestones but....in the end, I thought it best to leave it just that: clean and simple.

I know you would love to see the Clean-and-Simple inspiration from the rest of the design team so do pop over to their blogs and have a look!  Then come back and join us at The Paper Players before this challenge ends on Friday, March 20th at Noon (PST).  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. So elegant, Nance! I can't imagine this not be stunning in every color but would love to see it in a deep color like Bermuda Bay. Wonderful card with just enough detail - love the paper piercing!

  4. The Crushed Curry EP on Smoky Slate looks so striking and the fact that it's a line art image makes it all the more striking. Gorgeous card!

  5. Beautiful card Nance and I love the colors you chose, Although, many moons ago fashion colors were grey and pink, I think that too would look lovely (even though I know you're not truly a "pink" gal).

  7. Subtle is good - a fabulous CAS card Nance! I've been using this set a lot lately as it featured in my last class and LOVE this idea - I'm off to add some Blushing Bride embossing powder to my next order to give it a go!! The paper piercing on the spare corners also adds detail and interest without detracting from the flower. I love it!!
