A Wonderland of Layers {PP264}

Hiya friends and welcome to another week with The Paper Players where lovely Claire has a fantastic sketch for us:
Sketch challenges are my favorite because, for me, the layout of all my elements is the most difficult part.  With a sketch challenge, it's already done for me!  Claire loves layers...and glitz...and glam!  So I had to make sure that my card for her sketch lived up to ALL of those elements.  I think I managed a few...
I think this is one layered and glitzy card, don't you?!  I used the beautiful Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP for all my layers and the elegant color combination of black, gold and white.   This paper is so gorgeous--with a rich, glossy finish and elegant patterns--every sheet is a winner!
On top of the Basic Black base is a layer of Gold Foil paper embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder--another beauty.  So pretty in metallic.
I heat embossed these gorgeous trees from the Wonderland stamp set onto some gold striped DSP.  The sentiment was also heat embossed onto cardstock Vellum and wrapped around the main panel and adhered to the back.
And how pretty are these wooden Snowflake Elements?  Especially when paired with Iced Rhinestones and Gold Metallic Thread.
I really like how this one turned out and it all started with Claire's fantastic sketch!  I hope that you will play along with the sketch before our challenge ends on Friday, October 2nd at Noon (PDT).  Before you go, be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team with their fabulous creations....thanks for stopping by!

Jingle Bells for a White Christmas {MM135}

Wow, where did last week go?  My oh my, the weeks are zipping by aren't they?!  I'm pleased to bring you another Christmas card for Merry Monday.  Love working with these gals--they are so sweet and talented!  This week, Sue is our hostess for a challenge to use Christmas Bells.

I must say, this was quite a challenge for me!  I don't own a single bell stamp (gasp!) and while I could have downloaded something from the Silhouette store, I challenged myself to use Stampin' Up products.   What do you think?
 This White Christmas stamp set is so stinkin' cute!  Love the little polar bear, the treescape and the darling bitty banner!  On the focal piece, I stamped all the images with Memento black ink and used my Smoky Slate (light) Blendabilities marker to color the trees.  I stamped the treescape a second time on Whisper White cardstock and trimmed it down to the treeline to make my snowy forest.
The polar bear was fussy-cut and given some glitz with Dazzling Diamonds.  I gave the bitty banner some depth by coloring it with the lightest Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker.  It's just slightly darker than the Pool Party cardstock in the background and helps the banner stand out.
I used the only Christmas bells I had....mini jingle bells!  While these are retired SU, I am certain they can be found at any craft store.  I tied them onto my banner with some Cherry Cobbler ribbon and a glue dot.
This card is a different fold--opening just slightly off center.  I scored the 4.25" x 11" piece of SMoky Slate cardstock at 3" and 8.5" to get the unique gate opening.  One side is covered with a Smoky Slate pattern from the All is Calm DSP.
Of course, you know I couldn't stop there and did a little more stamping on the inside.  Love that more and more of SU's sets are coming with coordinating sentiments for the front and inside of our cards.

I hope you'll join us over at Merry Monday!  Be sure to stop by and check out the rest of the Design Team and their amazing work!  Thanks for stopping by today, friends!
