Love the pop of Blackberry Bliss with the autumn color palette. I've been itchin' to ink up another new set from the Holiday Catalog. Four Feathers has coordinating Framelits that make cutting out trendy feathers easy-peasey! Take a look-see:
Oh, I had fun coordinating patterns, colors and textures on this one! I started with a sketch in mind and quickly evolved from there. Two patterns from the Color Me Autumn DSP provide the background. While the watercolor look of the Cajun Craze piece is pretty, I thought it needed a bit more interest so I stamped one of the feather images randomly across the main panel. A little bit of coordinating Color Me Autumn Washi Tape held the [retired] Always Artichoke seam binding ribbon in place and added an extra pop of color.
Don't you just love how the feather Framelits cut these images? Look at those notches in the feathers--isn't that great?! I decided they needed a bit more "feathering" and did a little snipping and curling of the edges--holding them together with a fabulous Brushed Gold button!
The For All Things stamp set has some wonderful sentiments--in addition to the great images--and I've used another one on the inside. This would be a great card for Thanksgiving but it would also work well as a Thank You for a special someone. With a change of sentiment, it could work equally as well for a fall birthday or anniversary too! And speaking of Fall, you'll want to pop over to The Paper Players to see what the rest of the Design Team is showing this week. Come back and play with us before the challenge closes on Friday, September 19th at Noon (PST).

Love everything about this card Nance - those feathers are gorgeous and the background is just stunning! I love the layering and natural elements too. I'm glad it's not just me who's been feeling the pain of the return to school; I thought it would give me more time for work, but actually just seems to keep me busier!!
