I just recently purchased the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and matching Framelits--I know, what took me so long, right?! I thought this sketch would be perfect to highlight all the pretty flowers in this set:
So, this card is a little more simple than my usual style. There's not much beyond the big bouquet but I thought the colors and depth of the bouquet was enough to carry the design. Although from a couple weeks ago, I really liked the colors of the Global Design Project color challenge #121 so that was my inspiration for the florals. The stems are cut from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and the flowers are all stamped on thick Whisper White in Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum. A Crumb Cake base is a good neutral to balance all those colors and I think it adds a rustic charm that goes well with the wildflower look of the bouquet. Of course, Linen Thread is the perfect finishing touch of rustic charm!
No time to stamp the inside this week and I'm prepping for another tournament this weekend. The weekend keeps me busy as I've ended up in the role of team photographer. Watching the action through the lens helps keep my mama bear tendencies in check and helps me keep calm--I'm sure all you sports moms, dads, and grandparents can relate! Here's a shot of our daughter at the net from last weekend's tournament in Jacksonville. Proud mama! :-)
I hope you've enjoyed my card today and feel inspired to play along with my sketch at The Paper Players. I'm sure the fabulous work of my teammates will get you even more fired up! Just be sure to play along before the challenge closes on Friday, February 2nd at Noon (PST). Thanks for stopping by!

Nance, this is a gorgeous card! I love the beautiful bouquet. Cut flowers are always my favorite! The little sequins centers are too cute! The color combo is lovely! But, that shot of Arden steals the show! WOW! You are an amazing photographer, too! So happy you can be a part of her team. I know you love watching her! Have a wonderful week, My Friend! XX
ReplyDeleteHi Nance,
ReplyDeleteLovely card, of course polka dots always get me. It's a very nice clean design sketch too allowing the beautiful flowers to take center stage, such great colors too.
However....the action picture of Arden is unbelievable, you do take great photos, but that jump... she's really off the floor big time.

Wow! I have this set and underutilise it. This is great and I think it's the Crumb Cake base that really brings out the flowers. Love the sequin centres and I'm always in love with Linen twine. Great card but your photography is AMAZING! Super action shot and I agree that being team photographer will keep the 'mama bear' in check. The team is lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bouquet! I really like the sequin centers and the thread bow-great touches! Such a pretty card and a great photo of your daughter! I have such a hard time getting good action shots with my youngest when she's playing tennis. Between the fence and the speed, everything seems slightly out of focus...
ReplyDeleteThe bouquet is lovely......and so is that fabulous fierce daughter of yours!
ReplyDeleteNance love the colors you chose on this bouquet, I agree with all that the design simple but gorgeous. The neutral/rustic look is FAB. I have this set and love the little wrap. An extra sweet detail. Now..
ReplyDeleteArden is beyond powerful! Nice action shots as I've said on FB. Wow.
Hugs.
Your bouquet is beautiful! I like the twine bow too, so cute. Great shot of your daughter too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this card....your bouquet looks beautiful on the Crumb Cake base, especially with that sweet little linen thread tie! Arden has quite a jump there....she looks like Supergirl to me! Have fun and enjoy the time with her...it will be gone before you know it!
ReplyDeleteWhat took you so long indeed Nance - this set is beautiful and your brightly coloured blooms are testament to that, you will get loads of use from this one for sure. Love the pairing with the Crumb Cake and linen thread too for just the right amount of rustic charm. What a fabulous photo of Arden too - clearly your talents are many, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you used for your bouquet and the rustic feel with the Crumb Cake! Enjoy your weekend - looking forward to seeing more amazing photos! Hugs, Annie
ReplyDeleteNance, not sure which is more impressive... Arden's Jordanesque jump - or your card! I love your wonderful bouquet and the sequin centers were a genius addition. You might think it is more simple than your normal style, but it is quintessential Nance. Fabulous.
