Just right for the cooler weather I'm experiencing right now. I'd like to pretend that this will give me a jump on starting Christmas cards early but....who am I kidding? I've only just moved onto summer, lol!
The Wonderful Wreath stamp set and coordinating framelits didn't see nearly enough love in my stamp room last year so I decided to fix that with today's card. I was also inspired by the card layout on page 33 of the new SU catalog.
I started with a Crumb Cake base on which I stamped a sentiment from the set in the same color ink. Looking at it, I think next time I would choose a slightly darker ink just to make the pattern of the repeated sentiment show up more.
For the main panel, I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Woodgrain folder. Lovely on it's own but if you look close, you will see that I brushed Wink of Stella all over. Oh what sparkle and shine...just like new fallen snow!
The wreath was heat embossed twice--the first stamp with white embossing powder and the second time with silver embossing powder. I love the look of the white & silver emossing on Crumb Cake. I cut two layers of the Christmas Greetings Thinlits from thick Whisper White cardstock and Silver Foil paper. I layered the two for a drop shadow effect and adhered them together with the fine tip glue pen.
I hope you like my card today....be sure to pop over to The Paper Players and check out the rest of the Design Team inspiration. We're delighted to announce today that all three of our Guest Designers have agreed to stay on for the rest of the year! YAY, thank you ladies--you and your work are fabulous. Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteI love this Nance! The repeat background sentiment is very on trend at the moment and I love the addition of the Wink of Stella to the woodgrain - must try this! This is on my CASE list!
ReplyDeleteNance this is gorgeous! I love the crumb with white ...so sharp!
ReplyDeleteSuch an elegant card, Nance. I love the colors together and the scalloped border dividing the two sections is wonderful. Such a great card.

Wow, wow, WOW! That wreath is fabulous! The touches of silver really elevates your design. I don't have this wreath...didn't think I needed it. Now? Wish List!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Nance, love the embossing details on the wreath, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe addition of the subtle sentiment on the craft cs is very festive along with the silver scallop edge separating the two sections. The baker's twine bow finishes everything perfectly. Nothing like Christmas in July!
Love the embossing on the wreath, Nance! The silver and white look so good with the Crumb Cake (kraft) colors. I will need to remember this color combo I think. The layout is great too. Have fun visiting and I'm so happy to be staying with The Players.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning...I love the neutral colors, especially with the white and silver! I hope you are having a wonderful vacation too!
ReplyDeleteLove this done in neutrals! Very classy! And the subtle stamping on the side panel is perfect!
ReplyDeleteNance just love this Christmas card done in neutrals...Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I just typed Christmas the day after the 4th of July! However, I did start early last year making Christmas cards... I made many many different designs and layouts and didn't try to make the "same" one for everyone... Just picked as I packed the envelopes. Much less stress! Hugs.
Your neutral colors are really elegant and still say Christmas! Superb!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous, Nance! I love the elegant neutral tones and your beautifully decorated wreath.
ReplyDeleteA stunning and sophisticated card. I really admire it!
ReplyDeleteI like your wood grain layer. I decided to do one on my second PPA302 entry. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteSo love this wreath... I am guessing Stampin Up... So beautiful in the colors you chose and the twine and gems to finish!
