Soft and pretty...these colors were crying out for flowers! I pre-ordered some new goodies from the upcoming SU catalog and had fun playing with my dies and stamps...take a look:
This is from a new stamp set called Swirly Bird and it is bundled with coordinating thinlit dies called Swirly Scribbles! I couldn't wait to get my hands on these cool swirly flowers. Love the delicate details and they pop out of the die just perfectly! I covered the base with some long-ago retired So Saffron dp and added a center panel 3.5" wide. I stamped the flowers first in So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder and Blushing Bride (substituted for Pink Pirouette because I didn't have any--gasp!).
I die-cut some coordinating flowers and added some Wink of Stella to the center of each one. I looped some silver thread behind the two smaller flowers for some extra layers and swirls. The set has a sweet little leaf die and coordinating stamp. Also some random splotches to match the leaves.
You can get a better sense of the stamps on the inside--just love this swirly flower. The clean lines of the flowers give a fresh and modern feel...just my style. And there's another sneak peek for you with the inside sentiment. It's a hostess-only photomolymer set called Time of Year. I'm really liking the number of photopolymer (clear) sets that SU is showing in the new catalog. They're soooo much easier to use!
I hope you've enjoyed my sneak peeks of new SU stuff--I sure had fun playing with them all. Be sure to pop over to The Paper Players and check out the rest of the eye candy from the Design Team. We hop you will be inspired to play along...just do so before our challenge closes on Friday, May 13th at Noon (PST). Thanks for stopping by!

Okay, now you have "forced" me to buy this, Nance. I wasn't planning on it, but hadn't seen it yet IRL. TFS - I think. ;-)
ReplyDeleteTerrific sneak peek! This set arrived at my house this week but I haven't played with it yet. Thanks for the lovey inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool seeing these swirly flowers IRL! Just gorgeous! Big, bold & fun! You rocked the colors!!
ReplyDeleteI just love those flowers...thanks for the sneak peek!!!Love your design too, SO pretty!
ReplyDeleteI like your substitution of Blushing Bride for Pink Pirouette. I think Flirty Flamingo could have worked too. I like you die cuts of the flowers. I think there is better balance among the flower colors if deeper shade of pink is used instead of Pink Pirouette. I may just do another card using one of the other pinks. Anyway your color selection and object placement is very effective. Great card!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, love the swirly design die, love the colors and the substitution. Great inside sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteOh swirly bird is in my order too......wherever that box may be! I love this - so fun and flirty! Makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteNance this is super cute and love the colors on this... very SPRING! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI agree Nance, these colors were calling out for florals and yours are gorgeous! And the Wink of Stella, just fab! I'm with you on the PP sets, too. Love them.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Love the flowers and the card :) Hugs to you!

ReplyDeleteThis set was first on my pre-order list and your card progress why it's a must-have! Those flowers are lovely Nance - I'm off to take second look at that hostess set now though, as that didn't make it on to my list!!!
