Hello Sunshine PP285

Hi friends and happy Sunday...can you believe it's March already?  Wow, where does the time go?!  With another Sunday here, that means it's challenge time at The Paper Players where sweet Sandy has a fun theme challenge for us...Rain or Shine!
I pulled out all the stamp sets I had having to do with rain, sunshine, rainbows, and put them all together to make a bright and happy card of encouragement:
I wanted to make a raindrop background so I used the Happy Patterns Decorative Masks to sponge on some Smoky Slate ink to the Whisper White card base.  I sponged heavier in the center of the focal point and applied lighter pressure toward the outer edges.  I was going for a water droplet look--what do you think?  The swoosh image from the Over the Rainbow stamp set was stamped 5 times to create the rainbow using (from the top) Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry inks.
I die cut the sun using the Sunburst Thinlit die and then trimmed it down to a circle with a Circle Framelit.  There's a close-up here to show you the Wink of Stella I slathered onto the sun as well as the stenciled background.  If those were water droplets they would be sparkly, right?  I just painted on some Wink of Stella before removing the mask.
This set, Over the Rainbow, really has some cute sentiments and I thought this one was perfect for a word of encouragement on the inside.  I think I'll keep this little card until someone, probably our daughter, needs a little pick-me-up!  Nothing like a rainbow to brighten your day, right?!

You would brighten our day over at The Paper Players if you joined in the fun!  Just make sure to play along before our challenge ends on Friday, March 11th at Noon (PST).  Be sure to check out the rest of the design team and their fabulous inspiration!

  1. Lovely card, the improvised abstract rainbow is very creative, I love it. The sun is so great looking I thought it was made from felt when I first looked at it. The wink of stella is fabulous as is the inside with the rainbow repeated, a definite pick-me up card!

  7. Nance I think you have all of the weather elements covered in one happy card! Your water droplets are very cool, and who doesn't love a rainbow? As always the inside of your card is as pretty as the outside and I love the sentiment.
