I couldn't wait to work with it and I just know I will be using it for many other projects. Love the circle element and the squiggly lines are fabulous. The lines could be interpreted any way you like but I chose to sit down at my sewing machine and do some quick stitching. Take a look:
Instead of snipping off the thread from my stitching, I attached a glue dot to the loose end and tucked it under the flower. It made a fun little loopy element that is so trendy right now. I also snipped each petal and using a bone folder, bent them up a little for extra dimension.
This card it headed to a good friend who recently got a new job and I am, truly, so happy for her! I would also be happy to see you join us over at The Paper Players before this challenge ends on Friday, February 27th at Noon (PST). I'm going to have to cut this short friends--we're in the middle of a two-day volleyball tournament and this team mom needs some rest! Thanks for stopping by!
Oh I love the stitching and the thread! This is gorgeous.....I need to look at some pretty flowers these days!
ReplyDeleteOh Nance, I LOVE this card! I am so impressed you stitched around your circle! I want to do that, but sewing frustrates me! I adore the colors and all the details of this bright and colorful card! XX
ReplyDeleteMy favorite element on your card is your stitching..looks so sharp with that color. That was a fun, creative idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool creation! That DSP has sat unused in my stash because the colors are so intimidating to me, but you embraced those colors and went with it! Bravo to you! And I love your little loopy threads too! How sweet!
ReplyDeleteSewing is not my thing but you surely made me wish it was with your pretty card! Love every detail in this card!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness is this ever gorgeous, Nance! I love how the pattern pops against that rich blue. Then you dial it up a notch and add that stitching?? Wowza! Love everything about this one! Hugs! :)
ReplyDeleteThese colors look absolutely fabulous together and I'm so impressed with your stitching! Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteNance this is so pretty. Love floral peeking out and your stitches just highlight this too. The larger flower just appears to jump out of the field of flowers in the background... at least to me. Beautiful.

Gorgeous card, Nance! It's just so striking with the rich colors and the stitching to set the whole thing off! Your friend is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you are the one who made this sketch awesome with your amazing challenge badge, and your card is fabulous too! Super love the stitching, especially against the dark card stock, and I'm with LeAnne regarding the cute loopy threads!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous, Nance! I LOVE a card with stitching on it. Great color choices give this card a vibrancy! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are so bold and beautiful and I love how you added the stitching!!! Marvelous card Nance!
ReplyDeleteNance this is gorgeous!!! I love the stitching - I can never be hassled to get my machine out of the cupboard to sew on a card, but boy does it step this card up a level!! Love the use f the Flowerpot paper with the navy and bright pop of orange from the flower. This is one of those papers that is so bright and busy it's scary to use I think, but I love it here - I'll be taking a leaf out of your book my friend!
ReplyDeleteNance, I love the flower theme of your card and the die cut you is perfectly placed. The layered flower is fabulous! I am in awe of your stitched circle border!
