I'll admit that I struggled a bit with this one as vintage isn't really my style and I really wanted to use some of current stamps that haven't seen ink yet....so tell me, is this vintage enough?
I had in mind pink, aqua and gold Christmas ornaments flocked with glitter and pearls...can you see it? I thought this Nature's Peace stamp set evoked the look and feel of a different time period.
The colors also make me think of cool winter skies and the northern lights. After embossing the image in gold on Very Vanilla cardstock, I sponged So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Pool Party starting in the middle and working out. Finally, the swirling banners and snow drifts were just calling out for some dazzling diamonds and who am I to resist?
When I was finished with the focal piece, I fussed with a background for it trying each of the 3 main colors but they were all just a little too strong. In the end, I covered a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock with some Gold Fancy Foil Vellum. It was just the right amount of glitz. Two little glue dots secured a piece of Venetian Crochet Trim to the outer edge. And there you have it, my take on vintage Christmas!

ReplyDeleteYes... it does feel vintage enough...the colors alone are vintage and I love it with the embossing. I struggled with vintage, too... but I love how you combined something new with an old feel. Fabulous, my friend
