I'll admit, I took a few liberties with the sketch...not intentional mind you. I kinda forgot about the exact placement of the sentiment as well as the little scalloped border on top...yikes! That will teach me to check the sketch badge before I start work on my project! I hope LeAnne forgives me. :-)
My card was inspired by the rustic colors in the Under the Tree speciality DSP. I love the deep rich shade of Kraft and used that little diagonal striped piece as a starting point. I liked the idea of stripes with stars so I embossed a piece of Garden Green cardstock wiht the Lucky Stars folder and had a little fun with my Star Framelits.
There is no stamping on the stars just a little more speciality DSP (doesn't it look like snow?) and a trio of sentiments from Endless Wishes. I thought the small scale font looked sweet as a eensy little banner. Each one was stamped onto Naturals Ivory cardstock and snipped to meet the scale of the sentiment--the ends were flagged with the Hexagon punch.
It was gray and rainy ALL day here in the Sunshine (LOL) State and the ink on my card got a little wet. Please ignore the drizzle marks! I barely managed to get these pix taken before the deluge hit again. I used a star stamp set I already had--Be the Star-- on the inside in Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler. The clean lines of this set pair nicely with the overall clean look of the card. So, what do you think? I rather like it as these big stars just make me smile!
I know all the wonderful inspiration from The Paper Players design team will make you smile too! LOL, you are forgiven for the sketch liberty!! I LOVE what you did with these papers, stars and Endless Wishes...such a fun creation! I just love the combination of sentiments you can create with that set, too! And I didn't even notice your drizzle mark until you mentioned it....sort of looks like falling stars to me! A wonderful, warm, country creation!
ReplyDeleteI love your interpretation of LeAnne's sketch and the artistic license you used! Love all the stars and the beautiful combination of papers. I wanted to also thank you for selecting my card for last week's PP A Cut Above. I am honored. Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

ReplyDeleteNance I love the muted shades of this beauty, and I totally see the sketch too. hugs.
ReplyDeleteGreat card Nance! I love the stars and bright colours, along with the split sentiment. I chuckled when I read your post; I did something similar this week where I didn't re-check my sketch before I started, then ended up with the sentiment in the wrong place. I think we are all allowed a little artistic license though ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this card, Nance! It has such an awesome country feel. The sentiment banners are perfect.
ReplyDeleteFun card Nance! I love how you placed the sentiments to pull your eye down the card and your embossing is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNance, I love the repetition of stars with the striped background and how you split up your sentiment. Fabulous card and great sketch
ReplyDeletehugs
