Ridiculously Amazing Paper Players {PP207}

My Paper Players friends are ridiculously amazing and today we get to reveal this week's challenge--a theme challenge, hosted by the always super Sandy...Cute as a Button!
I have to admit, I don't use buttons very often and SU doesn't have any current button stamps so I was a little stumped....until I got the idea to use the [retired] Sweet Buttons embosslit in combination with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder and, well...I got a little carried away:
But isn't it cute??!! All those little embossed buttons just make me smile...well, after my arm got a rest from all the cranks through the Big Shot, then I could smile!  :-)  The sentiment was stamped 5 times in 4 different inks (Crushed Curry, Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party & Real Red) as well as embossed with silver embossing powder.  Each sentiment was trimmed down and the angled ends were just cut free-hand.  Most of them match up...sorta :-)

The piercing on the inside of last week's card was such a big hit that I thought it could work again.  The sentiment was inked up with markers and I used the Eclectic Piercing Pack to punch a banner around the image.  A good way to add detail without a lot of fuss!
This is one of my display stamper cards that inspired the layout for today's card.  A totally different look when designed in bright colors.

Be sure to check out the rest of the inspiration from our ridiculously amazing Design Team. We hope you'll join in the fun before our challenge closes on Friday, August 8th at Noon (PST).  Thanks for stopping by today!

  14. Nance, genius use of the embossed buttons. I love that they create such a bold background for your fabulous layered sentiment. I love the little button at the top, too.

  15. Okay, I admit it. I don't read directions! But then I'm a guy so that's not unusual. So imagine my surprise when, after hunting all over the annual and holiday catalogs for that abasing button embossing folder, I discovered it wasn't a button embossing folder after all! Huh. Brilliant, Nance!
