I had a specific stamp set in mind and when I saw this beautiful color combination over at Just Add Ink, it all came together--love when that happens! Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla:
The rest of the card is fairly straightforward but you might be wondering about the striped "DSP" I used..... Well, it's not actually DSP! I didn't have any that matched this combination of colors exactly and I knew that stamping the other images in the set would be too busy so..... I made my own striped paper with a ruler and Stampin' Write markers in Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar and Crumb Cake. I'm really happy with the results and it wasn't difficult at all! OK, maybe just a little time consuming! :-)
Another retiring retired favorite (gone alread!), Bring on the Cake, is featured on the inside. Just love that "a year better" sentiment. I won't get rid of this one either. I hold on to almost all my sentiment stamps just because you can never have too many, right?! And, over at The Paper Players we can never have too many participants! I hope you'll join in the sketchy fun before the challenge closes on Friday, May 2nd at Noon (PST). Be sure to pop over to the rest of the Design Team to see what they're sharing today! Come back later this week, too, when I will share a project featuring another retiring stamp set...

Wow! I love this card and am so impressed that you made your own DSP with markers and a ruler. The lines are so even! I don't think I'll be able to do it but you've inspired me to give it a whirl.
Great Card! Don't you just love making your own DSP! I like the fact that we can make it to match exactly, without other colors we don't want in it! Great for colors challenges too! Thank you for sharing!
Very pretty card and oh, so sorry about Betsy's Blossoms retiring.
Aren't you the clever one making your own striped paper, looks fabulous too. Love the inside to carry through the theme
Well, aren't you clever, making your own stripey DP....and it looks fabulous! A great complement to these beautiful bold images. I don't use this set enough, but I am sad to see it go!
I love how you have used the Betsy's Blossom stamp set on this fab card Nancy! Your homemade DSP is great! Thanks for playing at JAI this week ♥
Nance, I love your striped paper - great way to showcase SU!'s fabulous products, and their versatility! Love how you've used Betsy's Blossoms, and the challenge colours. Thanks for playing along with us at Just Add Ink!
Nance, I don't know how you can always take a single stamp set and completely show it in a new and fabulous light. I absolutely LOVE this card! The soft colors and the layered images...gorgeous! Of course you created your own DSP in a super clever way...How cool is that?! Always so inspiring to visit your creations, my friend. Thanks for rocking my sketch this week. Hugs! :)
Lovely card, great layout - I really like how you have decorated the inside with the same colours too - it's very effective Chantell JAI
I've never found Betsy's Blossom easy to work with but I do love how you used it Nance! Overlaying the images looks great and so does your home made DSP. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.
Nance I agree ... I love this set too. (of course I don't get rid of anything I've purchased!). Love the use of the colors here and especially like the background stamping on the on the brown cs, but aren't you ambitious making your own stripes! ... so cool. hugs.
I agree, Nance. I wish Betsy wasn't retiring either. I love the colors you used and was wondering about the DSP. I can't beleive you made it yourself! Awesome job, and you clearly have a steady hand!
It will be sad to see this set retire - you've done a fab job incorporating the stamp into so many layers of your card!
Thanks for sharing your card at Just Add Ink this week.
