There is the cutest stamp set available until January 27th called Love You More and I couldn't wait to use it!
This is one card where it came out exactly as I pictured it in my mind--that doesn't happen very often! The key to a one-layer card is the illusion of layers and that was made easy with a little masking! I started with a base of Naturals White cardstock and cut out a banner with the new Banners Framelits from a piece of copy paper. I used removable tape to adhere the banner to my card base and then stamped the World Map image in Sahara Sand right over it.
I left the banner mask in place and sponged around it lightly with some more Sahara Sand ink. This created a shadow around the banner and really gives it a dimensional effect. To add some texture, I used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to pierce along the lines of the banner. I colored the globe image with Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Early Espresso Stampin' Write markers. Love that little heart on the African continent so I had to color it in!
This is a fabulous freebie stamp coming up during Sale-a-Bration called See Ya Later that was just perfect for this valentine. I made another mask, this time with the Circle Collection Framelits and sponged around it with more Sahara Sand ink.
I know you'll want to pop over and see all the fabulous one-layer inspiration from the rest of The Paper Players Design Team. I hope you'll consider making your own one-layer creation and linking up with us before the challenge ends on Friday, January 24th at Noon (PST). Thanks for stopping by today!

Very clever use of shadow stamping around the pierced banner it really creates dimension and looks like an added banner with those two elements! Great job.

Wow Nance, you certainly acheived the illusion of more than one layer! I could swear that that banner is a layer by itself. The sponging around the edges creates such depth. The image and sentiment pair perfectly with the background stamp, too. Way to rock the one layer challenge!
You are like David Copperfield! Perfect illusion! Love the card!
One layer?? Wow, you really nailed it. I had to keep going back to read how you accomplished this layered looked! Love the card! Nancy B
That should read "layered look". Sorry!
Great card. Love how you achieved the look of the layered banner, and the inside also. Thanks for sharing.
This is one-layer awesome sauce right here! As always, you have convinced me to buy more stamps. Haha! Fabulous card, my friend! :)
Oh gosh, Nance, I had to take a triple take on this to take in the creative use of the one layer with the banner. WOW!
Super card, Nance! A very clever use of non-traditional stamps (the World Map stamp!)...and even colors to make a stunning Valentine card. I'm in awe!
Nance VERY CLEVER indeed... Oh I just love how you did the banner. It REALLY does look dimensional. Nice job on the illusion... and cute stamps . hugs.
Wow! What a fabulous technique! This really looks like a layered card for sure. Awesome!
This is just such a wonderful card...a great technique that gives it great depth...and the sentiments on the inside! SQUEAL!! I love them together like that!
Whoa, this is awesome! I never would have guessed this was one layer. Amazing masking and shading!
When I first glanced at this card I thought you'd missed the one-layer element, the shading is so good! This card has such an illusion of depth and layers - fantastic work Nance!
Nance, when I first saw this I was sure you had used two layers... AWESOME masking. I absolutely love it, my friend.
hugs
Jaydee
