Aren't they pretty? So, I combined these with Anne Marie's fabulous sketch for our challenge this week at The Paper Players to make a Mother's Day card full of flowers! First, Anne Marie's awesome sketch:
and here's what I did with all this inspiration:
What do you think? I have to admit, this card made me happy. :-) I was in the mood for a soft, feminine flowery card and this is what developed! I stamped the background image from Postage Due in Sahara Sand ink onto Naturals White cardstock added the flourish from Everything Eleanor in Lucky Limeade ink and a few background flowers from the same set in Blushing Bride (substituted for Pink Pirouette).
I stamped the Everything Eleanor flowers in Calypso Coral onto Blushing Bride cardstock and fussy-cut all three. I added a little sponging with Sahara Sand, a few pearls and some Lucky Limeade organza ribbon from last year's Sale-a-Bration.
I really wanted the color of the flowers on the main panel to pop so I kept the base card and background the same color just adding some tone-on-tone stamping with the Netting background stamp in Sahara Sand. A little piece of Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon provides just the right amount of border and texture.
The flourish from this stamp set is so pretty--in fact it's the reason I bought the set(!)--that I just had to stamp it some more on the inside and added a few more flowers. What a versatile stamp set Delightful Dozen has turned out to be; providing this wonderful sentiment for Mother's Day.
It may be a little early for a Mother's Day card but I hope these springtime flowers bring a little big of cheer your way today! Please check out the rest of the design team and their beautiful projects over at The Paper Players and then join in the fun! Just make sure to join in before the challenge closes Friday, March 29th at Noon (PDT). Thanks for stopping by!

Such a pretty card Nance and even prettier in RL! Lovely colors together and you've reminded me of some great stamp sets that have hardly seen the light of day at this house, love the swirl from "Eleanor" same reason I bought it. The background stamp is so perfect just a nice subtle touch to keep the eye interested and then the added ribbon, fussy cut flowers, oh my, just gorgeous.

A very lovely card! Nice cool colors and great mix of images. Love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteA realy great card. Love this idea. Hugs, Ankie
ReplyDeleteNance this is absolutely GORGEOUS! I just love everything about it. The colors are so pretty and the sets you've used blend beautifully. I LOVE the background stamp Postage Due and use it often. I did get the Eleanor set just recently specifically for the swirl(too funny)...but I have not inked it yet. Your flowers with the pearls centers are FAB! This is totally inspiration to the Max! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThis is truly beautiful! The colors are perfect! And I love the hint of ruffly ribbon peeking out!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Nance! The flowers with the pearls are to die for! One of your best!
ReplyDeleteFabulous!! Just love the flower and how you used the sketch.
ReplyDeleteThis card makes me VERY happy! I almost used that background myself for my card...but went in another direction! Those swirls are beautiful stamped over the Postage Due image...I am going to have to put that Eleanor stamp on my wish list! Gorgeous creation!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, Nance! I never would have thought of putting these two stamp sets together, but they complement each other so well. As usual, your attention to detail is inspiring. Thanks for joining us at Fab Friday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful creation! These stamp sets combined perfectly.
ReplyDeleteNance,
ReplyDeleteI am afraid it I start saying what is so perfect about this card, I may write a dissertation...so may I just say, this is absolutely a divine card! Thanks for making my day brighter by seeing it;)
Beautiful! I love how you used Postage Due as the background and paired it with the swirl….the more I see it used the more I need that set just for the swirl! Well done combining both challenges! Thanks for sharing with us at Fab Friday!
ReplyDeleteThis is so soft and beautiful! I think my favorite part is the organza ribbon tucked in with the flowers. It continues the vine like effect of the swirls. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteFantastic card! I LOVE how you used the lucky limeade ribbon as an edge detail. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI really love your card! So gorgeous! Thank you for playing with the Fab Friday Challenge!
