Trees or leaves--YAY! Normally, I love working with both of them but I think my mojo must have fallen along with the leaves coz it just wasn't coming together for me. Anywhoooo, here we go:
I started by stamping all the leaves from the Gently Falling set and fussy cutting them. The colors were inspired by my pack of Orchard Harvest DSP: Lucky Limeade, More Mustard, Raspberry Ripple and Island Indigo. Yep, Island Indigo! I love using colors in unexpected ways! Who says I can't have a blue leaf?! My card is pretty straightforward--nothing fancy--and you'll find a complete supply list at the end of this post. I do love the way the Scalloped Tulle Ribbon looks bunched and tied onto a Naturals Button with Linen Thread. And that woodgrain embossing folder....swoon!

Also, a big thank you to everyone who left a comment on my daughter's blog this past week. She was thrilled and delighted with each one and I thank you for making her day brighter with your visit! Crafters are the nicest people! I hope you have a great day!

ReplyDeleteHappy Labour Day, Nance! It's Labour Day here in Canada too. Always sad to see the last long weekend of summer gone :(
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely! Great colour choices and that tulle is amazing! I must get some!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Beautiful card! I love the tulle ribbon!
ReplyDeleteNance,
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty leaf card and I think there is nothing wrong with a blue leaf...it's on it's way to purple, right? The tulle is yummy looking with the natural button but...I LOVE the woodgrain behind the leaves... I'm sure that's the big tree they fell from too.
Happy Fall!
Hugs
I definitely agree with the 'swoon' description of that woodgrain embossing with the core'dinations card - absolutely fabulous! And I'm loving your combination of sentiment/button/tulle!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card. I love leaves for fall cards. The fun of creating our own cards is to be able to make things the color that works for us - and if a blue leaf is it, terrific!
ReplyDeleteLooooove using leaves on cards and your fall card with the woodgrain BG is fabulous! Loved your DD's card too - just left her some love ;) Time to bring out my leaf dies!!
ReplyDeleteI think this is AWESOME, Nance. I love the leaves! I think I'm going to break down and get the embossing folder. I wasn't sure about it at first, but you and AM have used it beautifully this week.
ReplyDeleteI love your prettily-colored leaves! Hey, it's our projects and we can make them whatever colors we want, right! Looks perfect to me!!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, Nance! That woodgrain EF was definitely made for you. :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! I love fall and your card is really setting the mood. Since blue is my favorite color, I am completely in agreement on the beautiful blue leaf!! LOVE the core paper with the wood grain embossing too!!! A fabulous fall creation!
ReplyDeleteYour cluster of leaves are gorgeous against the woodgrain! Lovin' the gathered tulle!
ReplyDeleteWow, Nance! I love the color of your leaves. What a rich card with the texture and tulle!
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with the colors here, Nance!! The leaf colors are fabulous! That little pop of tulle is so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteNance, you might not think your mojo was flowing - but I think this card is proof that it was! I love textures from the core'dinations card stock. the bark embossing folder to the bow! Fabulous
