Hiya friends! I had a rare moment to stamp just for enjoyment and I couldn't resist the color challenge, and the inspiration, over at my friend Lesley's blog Dynamic Duos. I was particularly inspired by my pals Anne Marie's gorgeous fall creation.
I might be the last person in the blog world who hasn't played along with the fun new Fab Friday Challenge so I'm sneaking this one under the wire over there too. Love that their challenges run for two weeks!
We needed a birthday card for my daughter's teacher and I thought these colors and some fall leaves were perfect for a seasonal masculine card:
Always a favorite, the two-step leaves from Gently Falling look gorgeous just in one color. I inked the leaf in Always Artichoke and stamped off once before stamping on the paper. Going over it full-strength in the same color just a wonderful water colored look and adds so much dimension. I did the same with the acorn in Cajun Craze, stamping off once and full-strength for the outline.
I added a little background stamping with the script and water spots from French Foliage in Sahara Sand to match the card base.
One more of each element carries over the design to the inside and I added this great sentiment from a new-to-me set, One in a Million. It's actually two separate stamps but they look like one when stamped close together and in the same color. I love that SU is getting more sets like this one that provide a companion sentiment for the inside too. Love stamping the inside! But you knew that, right?! :-)
That's it for me folks...thanks for stopping by today!

Love your fall card :) Great use of the colours and the sketch. I have that sketch stored in my "to use" pile.
I have to admit that those are not my favorite colors, but I do really love them together and your card uses them beautifully! Gently Falling is one of my favorite sets- great choice for the two challenges. Thanks for playing at Fab Friday!
Perfect masculine fall card! Love the example of stamping off to get "two" colors for one ink! I'm sure your daughter's teacher appreciates this immensely! Thanks for playing along with us at Fab Friday!
This is a lovely card. ;-) I am partial to Autumn, so all those beautiful leaves and acorns make me do a happy sigh. Glad you could join Dynamic Duos this week. ;-)
Nance great fall card and colors. Love leaves no matter what size or shape. I also love this for a masculine card...those are SO hard for me to come up with something origial. I usually CASE ...so don't be surprise when I CASE this beauty! Hugs.
Fabulous card, love the texture! Thanks for playing with us at Dynamic Duos!
What a gorgeous fall card, Nance! The rich colors and textures from the two step stamping are perfect for a masculine card too. Lots of beautifully done stamping and one fabulous result!

Beautiful! The Sahara Sand is the perfect accent to keep this card subtle!
