Happy Paper Players Sunday, friends! Changes are afoot here at The Paper Players as we say goodbye to our dear friends on the summer design team and our August guest designer but welcome our new Fall team aboard! I am so excited to be stamping alongside these gals--they have some amazing creations to share with you! Me...not so much today--I had a hard time finding my mojo on this one so I turned to a favorite color challenge site and discovered a double challenge!
I used Fall-to-Layout #155 and Colour Q combo #97 with this week's Paper Players Theme Challenge: Birthdays...
...to create this for you:
Not sure this is exactly what I had in mind when I set out but it's growing on me. I do love this color combination and had fun featuring all the gorgeous Pool Party cardstock! Three rows of Pool Party were punched with the Lace Ribbon border punch and adhered to basic black. The Tangerine Tango scallop dots ribbon was made a little wider with a strip of TT cardstock underneath.
The double butterfly is made with the Beautiful Butterflies die and the Beautiful Wings embosslit. I wish now that I added another rhinestone to the two smaller butterflies--funny how stepping back in a photograph can make small things obvious! I thought the whimsical sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes added the perfect sense of movement with the butterflies.
Thank you so much for stopping by today...do hop over to The Paper Players to check out the amazing creations of the entire Design Team...I am so lucky to be working with these gals! I hope that you will play along with us this week...you always need a birthday card for the stash, right?! If you join us, please link up your creation at The Paper Players by Friday, September 9th at midnight (PST) to be considered for Headliner and A Cut Above. I hope you are having a great weekend!

Isn't that the CUTEST! There's that darn ribbon punch again that I didn't order, don't ya just hate yourself when you do that! Love the punched ribbon especially the 3 rows that lend a unique balance to the card with just enough white space for the cute sentiment and what can one say about pretty butterflies, they're just so pretty. Great card and good for you a double challenge (well really a triple).
ReplyDeleteGood for you.
I love the bright pop of color! And the way you used that punch is wonderful - looks like fancy grillwork against the black!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love the butterflies and really love how you used the punch! What a wonderful technique! Your mojo looks fine from here!
ReplyDeleteNance .... WOW! What a bright and cheery card. Love the colors and the lay out is great too. Your ribbon punched borders are FAB with the peek-a-boo color. I'm becoming a fan of orange/pink combos.. So cheery. I think your butterflies are gorgeous with or without rhinestones, but I know what you mean about hindsight.
ReplyDeleteMight have to go 'edit' my post from last night!
Hugs.
This is fabulous! I love the bright and fun colours and you are certainly showing your versatility with this one. Great job! I'll miss designing alongside you at the Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteLove how you used that lacy flower punch to create the strips on the black. I love butterflies and they are the perfect touch on this card :) Great triple challenge card my friend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Nance! Love your ribbon treatment. Love the colors you chose and the way you used them. Thanks for joining us at the ColourQ for our 100th challenge.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! The punch against the black is gorgeous. I love how you featured the pool party & used the tangerine & melon mambo for pops of color to compliment. The sentiment is so cute with the butterflies.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty card Nance, the three strips of lace at the bottom really look fabulous and I love the butterflies. I think you added just the right amount of bling...very classy and creative as always...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lesley
Gorgeous card, Nance. I love those strips of the lace border ribbon punch - they're so striking against the black background! Your butterflies are wonderful - but I know what you mean about seeing things once you've taken a picture and are working on your post. Your mojo is just fine!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet, paired with the two challenges---makes for a wonderful card! LOVE the sentiment with it, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful combination of these colors, and I love the contrast of the punched lace borders on the black background. So glad you could share your talents with us at the ColourQ this week!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, Nance! Where do I start? The doily border punch contrasted against the dark background is so creative! Of course, you can't beat butterflies with bling!
ReplyDeleteI had a tough time with my mojo this week, also...but I have to disagree with you on your gorgeous card. If this is a tough mojo-day...then sign me up! You absolutely ROCKED the sketch and the color combo is SO fresh and fun. I love how the playful sentiment just compliments your design perfectly. GORGEOUS, as always! Big hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteNance, how silly.....your mojo never left! I lust love the color combination and what you did with the butterfly!
ReplyDeleteNance, wow!!! that is INCREDIBLE! I love this layout and you rocked that color challenge. This is going into the CASE file!
ReplyDeleteNance, wonderful job on the sketch and thanks so much for playing along with us on our 100th at the ColourQ!
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate those mojo-less moments?? I don't think that happened in this case though. Your colors are fabulous and I love the design of the card. Very clever to stack the punched border. Love the look!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to working with you over the next couple of months!
Simply FABULOUS, Nance... then again your cards always are! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done with the lace ribbon punch Nance! At first glance I thought it was a new Big Shot die! You've done a fantastic job with the sketch and colour combo.
ReplyDeleteI love the pool party blue against the black, just stunning and the colors are fabulous together. Great card Nance!
ReplyDeleteEverything you touch turns to gold! This is a class act. I love the colors, design and detail!
ReplyDeleteYou've created such an eye-catcher of a design with strips of that punched paper. It's like looking through a Moroccan screen! Love it!
