Hi friends! This will be a quick post tonight. Just wanted to share a birthday card I made for my friend and downline, Diane of Rubber 'n' Rafters. I think she has received it by now...hope your day was fabulous Diane!
As a fellow Stampin' Up demonstrator, I definitely wanted to use new products on Diane's card and boy did I ever! It all started with the designer paper Beyond the Garden and it's bright floral pattern. I love how it looks paired with...of all things...Pacific Point! I've never been a big fan of Pacific Point but I love it with this paper!
I liked it so much, that I embossed another strip of cardstock with the brand-new Flower Garden embossing folder and highlighted the gorgeous flowers by sponging on Pacific Point ink.
Onto a 3" circle of Whisper White I stamped the branch image from Fabulous Florets in Wild Wasabi and overstamped a favorite sentiment in Pacific Point. Aren't those pink flowers gorgeous?!
I used Versamark ink to stamp the flowers on Pretty in Pink cardstock and embossed the image with our new Melon Mambo embossing powder. I made three flowers in two sizes also from Fabulous Florets, cut them out, popped them up and gave them a rhinestone center.
Even the ribbon got a new product with our Whisper White baker's twine tied around the trimmed down Daffodil Delight striped grosgrain ribbon. I just snipped off the two edges of the ribbon and frayed the edges a bit to make it a more manageable size.
And since I had a hard time putting down the new Flower Garden embossing folder, I also embossed the back of the envelope flap. the goodies:
stamps: fabulous florets, on your birthday
ink: pacific point, wild wasabi, versamark
paper: pacific point textured cardstock; whisper white, pretty in pink CS; beyond the garden DSP
xtras: melon mambo embossing powder; flower garden embossing folder; basic rhinestones; daffodil delight wide striped grosgrain ribbon; whisper white baker's twine; 3" circle die
This is so gorgeous! i love the colours and the way you embossed the back of the envelope! So clever!
ReplyDeleteI love that dsp and the floral embossing folder. Nice touch on the back of the envelope.

Oh my goodness, you are brilliant. I am one of the few that does not like Pacific Point at all…until now! Nance, your card is wonderful and hi-lights the new embossing folder perfectly. Gorgeous card.
ReplyDeleteNance,
ReplyDeleteYES! I DID get it and right on my Special Day! [However I'm still trying to decide what's special about turning the Big 6 0... YIPES!] I just LOVE my GORGEOUS card... I even took it with me to the Cupcake Open to show all my golf buddies. So many ooohhhs and aawwwws. Thanks for the great stamp prize too, the packaging was SO CUTE! THANKS SO MUCH. You are just the Best of the Best Uplines and you give me SO much inspiration, even if it is long distance. Hugs
WOW very clever. Beautiful card and love the embossing on the envelope as well. Well done.

This is just one amazing card! Love the colors, love the details of the embossing. Love how the elements work together instead of distracting from one another. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteDare I say you may have outdone yourself! Di's card is fabulous, wish you could have been at golf to hear all the comments on your card, mine included. The colors are fabulous together, the new DSP, the embossing folder, frayed ribbon, new twine, stamp set (which you cut out so well), sponging, did I miss anything? Oh yes another favorite the back flap on the envie...perfect.
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING card.
Nance, your card is STUNNING! I love the bold beautiful colors, and the new SU is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow - this is bold and beautiful for sure! That Pacific Point is a powerful background for the flowers - love it! And I also love the embossing on the envelope! Now I better head over to welcome Diane to the 60's......I don't feel so alone :)
ReplyDeleteOk, that card is fabulous! Even down to the smallest details, you made them all shine. The colors all work so good together, and I love the embossing. Great Job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Nance! I love the bling and how you used the new embossing folder!

ReplyDeleteWOW - way to make Pacific Point work! This is BEAUTIFUL, Nance! I love how you've tied the ribbon - and that focal set of flowers. And your envelope....Ahhhhhhhh! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThe dsp is beautiful but can be difficult to use. Great job highlighting it and using the Pacific Point; really brings out the colors.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, is this ever beautiful! What a lucky friend to receive such a gorgeous birthday card! I have the hardest time with bold patterned papers, but you have used it perfectly here. Love how you cut out and popped up the flowers, and the pop of yellow from the ribbon is fabulous! Wonderful card, my friend!
ReplyDeleteYOWZA! This is such a beautiful card. Your details are just fantastic. I love the color combo and am so amazed at your use of the bright paper. Your friend is indeed luck to receive such a beautiful card. The embossing on the envelope flap is the perfect touch- Just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNance, this is stunning! I love the bold bright colors, the mixture of the stamps with the paper with the embossing folder. I would never have been bold enough to put them altogether - but they look FABULOUS! Jaw-dropping
