I have learned that if I am stumped by a color or colors, to cheat a little and include a lot of white and less of the color that is stumping me. OK, this isn't a new idea but it just dawned on me...maybe I'm a slow learner! I started with our 3.5 x 5" Whisper White note cards.
I inked up a clear "D" block with a Pink Pirouette marker and stamped it directly onto the note card. This would have been easier with an ink pad (!) but I had to work with the supplies I had. I like the way the marker gave it a streaked look in the background. On top of my clear block image, I stamped Fine Flourish in Regal Rose. I cut out a Pacific Point heart with the Scalloped Heart or Heart embosslit and layered it with a piece of retired DSP in Regal Rose that I punched with the Full Heart punch. The "love you" sentiment is from Short & Sweet--an all-time favorite-- stamped in Pacific Point.
A quick-and-simple inside using the much-neglected I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments. Thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure to check out the inspiration from the rest of the Color Dare Design Team. Then hop on by the Color Dare blog to play along. LOVE this---I love that block stamping and your BG stamp!!! Just fabulous! Another challenging color combo, too!!
I just love what you've done with these challenging colors! So clever of you to color directly on the acrylic block to make that cool background. The silver pearl is oh-so-perfect!
Clean, simple, and GORGEOUS! Love that you used the clear block for the background. I have done that before, but I'd forgotten about it. Makes for a easy background - when I have an aversion to too much plain unstamped paper. Thanks for the reminder!
Fabulous card! You do clean and simple so well! I love it!
Nance this is beautiful! Love the CAS look and colors are simply gorgeous, especially how you did the background. I always forget about that! I don't have either pinks of anything....yet. lol
This is darling, Nance! Love all that white space and the BG you created for the heart. Great take on this week's colours.
Nicely done Nance!! I love what you did with these colors, the white space on these really keeps these colors from being over powering!! I love it my dear, tfs!!!
Nance... I absolutely agree with you... use less of the color and more of a neutral. Having said that, I love what you did with this color combo. I love that you saved the Pacific Point for the sentiment, because it really makes it pop.
Fabulous job, my friend!
Hugs

love your card ~ thanks so much for the tip on color challenges, this usually ALWAYS stumps me....and so the next time, I'll have to remember your words of wisdom. TFS
Love how you snuck that troublesome color inside! It pops! And I love the Regal Rose flouish!
Glad to hear I wasn't the only one stumped by this week's colours! I have a hard time with one pink, let alone two! You did a fabulous job of this! Love the background and your heart is perfect.
