Happy Sunday everyone! I am so excited to be the hostess this week at The Paper Players for our Clean-and-Simple Challenge. My challenge is to make a Clean-and-Simple project featuring...BUTTONS!
I took an abstract approach to this challenge and instead of using real buttons, I used my Sweet Buttons embosslit die to make paper buttons. Boy, my arm got a work out cranking that Big Shot! Here's what I did with the buttons....ALL of them!
I actually only used one real button on this card but made and used 54 paper ones!! My colors were Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry. I laid the buttons out on some scrap paper to get the layout I wanted and then transferred them to my cardstock one by one attaching each of them with some SNAIL tape.
I didn't want to cover up all those sweet little buttons with a sentiment so I stamped it onto vellum cardstock, flagged the end with a 1 1/4" square punch and tucked it under a [retired] Crumb Cake corduroy button. I love the way the buttons peek through the vellum.

FANTASTIC card and what a great challenge. I love your paper buttons and can imagine how much work it was to cut those babies out.
Nance, how clever of you such a cheerful rainbow and great use of the button die. Buttons must have been flying all over! Great job.

Mom
Fabulous! I keep meaning to get that embosslit and always forget. I love all the cute little buttons. Great idea to do the sentiment on vellum too. That was way too much work to cover up! :)
Way to use the "buttons" -- love the strip of vellum~
Wow - a total work of art! So creative and the sentiment on vellum is genius! Love this!
I totally love your card. The paper buttons work perfectly here and all the colors are perfect together. Wonderful!
This is such a cheerful card Nance. Your effort with the big shot certainly paid off. Love it.
This is adorable, Nance!!! LOVE the rainbow of "buttons" and always a good reminder to use vellum for sentiment. Great card!
Nance what a great card! Love the CAS design and at first my jaw was dropping at ALL those buttons! Then I read further and realized that most were paper...so clever and so darn cute. I especially love the sentiment on vellum that lets the rainbow show through. hugs.

"Somewhere over the rainboooow", our sweet hostess has created a cheerful card, all buttoned up for fun! I love this! The sentiment on vellum just adds to the light and airy-feel to your card. Another beauty, Nance! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Hugs! :)
Oh so cute and clever, Nancy! This card is amazing!
What a beautiful thing to see, as I'm sitting with my coffee, trying to wake up, on a Monday! I love the whole concept of this card! Using the paper buttons for the rainbow is brilliant and then you add the beautiful bright colors, and the wonderfully thought out sentiment banner, and it's perfect! You've outdone yourself again!!
I LOVE this card!!! What a great way to use those embosslit buttons .... thanks for the inspiration Nance!

This card shows just how much care and precision it takes to create a stunning card...and maybe a lot of patience? I can't believe there are 54 paper buttons?! Yes, definitely patience. But, you know what? It paid off and it's GORGEOUS! I love, love, love the vellum with the stamped image. Gives it the soft look letting the rainbow be the true star of the show! Have a blessed weekend, Nance!
